Gaia

Tree of Life

Looking Within

Gaia is the Greek goddess who drew the living world forth from Chaos—an Earth that sustains and nourishes all creatures. Calm in the face of cyclical changes. She is comparable to the famous Paleolithic “Goddess of Laussel” not needing any feet for she is the ground herself. In a time when many religions set us apart from God, and above the animals, Gaia offers a deep sense of connection and wholeness—we are all one being. She is the healing vision for a time in need of healing and a hope for the future.

Can you see her? She is the source of all, the circle of life, and the link between heaven and earth. The fruit in the tree is the universe, the mystery. When one partakes of the fruit immortality is realized.

Within the masculine strength of the tree her feminity shines through as she cohorts with the blue butterfly, symbol of transformation.

Instead of looking outside of ourselves for validation, solutions, fulfillment or to get our needs met we can look within and discover that we already have the answers we seek and love that can fill us. We have the ability to tune into the collective consciousness of the cosmos.

When we can become quiet and open ourselves to the unseen energies and the guiding, organizing, designing properties of the universe we gain access to the omnipresence, the all-knowing. Looking within will also help to stop blaming others and take responsibility for everything that comes to us on the path of life. Looking within offers us all a chance to choose love and inner peace.

Sacred Feminine Revealed

Balance

She-man

It is her time to join heaven and earth, to blend masculine and feminine into a perfect balance. She comes in all her glory and her intuitive "gut" feelings are emphasized by a living rose, the symbol often used to identify the Divine Feminine in ancient civilizations. She returns in full strength to claim and exalt in the sacred marriage between heaven and earth. Bringing a state of balance back into our lives seems to be a constant challenge. In a balanced partnership each member enhances the health and well-being of all the others, and the focus is to create a wholistic environment in which all within that environment are in harmony with the existing elements. It is the equilibrium marked by cancellation of all forces by equal opposing forces. It is stablity. When we learn to work in a co-creative partnership with nature itself we can bring our lives, and our world into balance. Instead of a shaman, she is the feminine aspect of the mystical medicine woman. She acts as a medium between the visible and spirit worlds. She works in partnership with the forces of nature to make manifest her purpose in life, and works to create a balance between the feminine and the masculine. She wears a mask to show that there are many faces of the Goddess/God. She-Man is a multi-media piece using natural substances like feathers, rice, leaves, and beans, as well as recycled objects to show that she is of the earth, that which gave her life. She is the epitome of the concept of birth/death/rebirth. Though you can not see it in this photo she has mirrors in her eyes, symbolizing the concept that we are all reflections of each other. What we see in another is who we are ourselves.

The Change

Strewing Mercy

Courage to Change

Discarding her past
In the inbetween time
Where it is murky and gray
though golden hues hint
of the magic she has acquired. She recreates herself
From once a beautiful butterfly
Comes a soul deepening
Growing a new kind of wings
Wings with wisdom and vision
Her compassion for living beings and her desire to save them from suffering is her reason for strewing mercy to the world. Her love heals at the source of dis-ease, bringing health, strength, longevity and beauty. When we operate from this space of compassionate love we offer the vision for inner and outer peace. She brings the knowledge that as Joseph Campbell, the great investigative mythologist said, “...live joyfully in a sorrowful world.” Our world is in constant change, yet sometimes energy gets stuck and can cause dis-ease in the system, whether that system is a body, a mind, or even something greater like a collective consciousness of a country or the world. By raising the intuitive to a higher vibration of the divine feminine, compassion personified, symbolized by the rose glowing from the center of her, we can create the energy of the heart to shine. When our hearts are shining we can bring heaven to earth. The sky symbolizes the heavens, her body is the earth itself.
