rainbow abstractYou were just there, suddenly
before I could even start to call on you.

With unexpected force
you pushed yourself into my mind
unbidden.

I thought there were barriers
of reason, of common sense
of two thousand years of civilisation
to stop things like you happening.

But you came.
Apparently you decided it was time to show me
who was in charge.

Meggie Hiley lives in a little thatched cottage in Rutland with her partner and a large fluffy cat. She works as a lecturer, writer and musician.
